Although Schott Performance Fabrics, Inc. (“We” or “Us”) does not have a presence in the EU/EEA, we do engage with some customers and data subjects in the EU/EEA, any of which may be covered under GDPR. In such instances, we may process or control an EU citizen’s user information (“Data” as defined below) under a valid legal basis such as a contract to provide services, with the consent of the EU citizen or for another legitimate interest. 

This GDPR Privacy Policy and its enumerated provisions along with our Privacy Policy are intended to comply with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (the “General Data Protection Regulation” or “GDPR”) and provide appropriate protection and care with respect to the treatment of all of our users’ information in accordance with GDPR. Data as defined in this policy means the GDPR definition of personally identifiable information such as an EU/EEA citizen’s name, address, email address, phone number, and IP address or other similar data.

1. Data Collected on the Basis of Consent

Upon your request and expression of consent, we collect the following data for the purpose of providing services to you. Your Data is not used for any other purposes or shared with third parties other than as set forth in this GDPR Privacy Policy and/or our Privacy Policy. Data is removed upon your withdrawal of consent or your request to terminate our services.

Newsletter Subscription

Your email address is collected when you sign up to receive our newsletter.


You may make a purchase without registering for an account with us. However, in order to process your purchase, we will collect your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number, payment information (including but not limited to credit card number).

Account Setup

If you register an account with us, we collect your name, shipping and billing address, email address, and phone number. We will also keep a record of purchases you have made on our website, (the “Site”). 

If you create an account on our Site, your name and email address will also be saved using cookies. This is done for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again the next time you sign in. These cookies will be saved on your computer until you delete them.

We collect IP and browser user agent string data when you create an account on our Site. This is a piece of data that helps identify what browser you are using, including the version, and operating system of your computer. This information cannot be tied back to a user account and is used for monitoring and logging purposes only.

2. Collecting Data and Retention Period

You directly provide Schott Performance Fabrics, Inc. with the personal data we collect. We collect and process data when you:

  • Subscribe to our newsletter;
  • Make a purchase or place an order;
  • Create an account on Site;
  • Fill out forms on our Site, or other provide a comment on the Site; and/or
  • Contact us.

The aforementioned data is retained only for as long as necessary to satisfy the purpose(s) for which it was collected in accordance with this GDPR Privacy Policy and our Privacy Policy. 

3. How We Use the Data Collected on the Basis of Legitimate Interest

Based on our legitimate interests, we collect the following data for the purpose of running our Website. Your data is not used for any other purposes or shared with third parties other than as expressly stated in this GDPR Privacy Policy or our Privacy Policy. It is removed upon your request.


The Site uses Google Analytics, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States and allows us to notice trends to improve the user experience on our Websites. This minimal build processes personal data such as: the date and time of the users’ visits, the network location and IP address, the title of the page being viewed, the URL of the page being viewed, the URL of the page that was viewed prior to the current page, the screen resolution, the time in local time zone, the files that were clicked on and downloaded, the links clicked on to an outside domain, the type of web browser, the type of operating system, the type of device, and the country, region, and city.

4. How We Store Your Data

Schott Performance Fabrics, Inc. securely stores your data in a secure location. We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls. Any payment transactions and data relating thereto will be encrypted using SSL technology.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. We urge you to be careful about giving out information in public areas of the Site like message boards. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the Site.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Site. In some instances, we may require explicit consent from you to process certain data. In such instances, you will receive a direct request from us for your permission to collect and/or process your data and you will be required to provide affirmative consent. In any event, we will clearly explain what data is being collected and/or processed and how it will be used. We only collect a minimum amount of user information necessary to perform our services. Explicit consent may always be retracted at any time by data subjects covered under GDPR.
